Tuition and Fees
Tuition for the 2007/2008 full-year dance program is based on 33 weeks and is payable in 9 installments. For tuition prices please see table below:

 

Full year policies

Payment of Fees
The first installment of your 9 payments will be collected at the time of enrollment. Subsequent installments are due beginning on the first day of class (October 15 through May) and are due by the 15th of the month. Installments may be made by check, cash, Visa or Mastercard. Arts ‘n Motion sends monthly tuition statements via email. Online payments are accepted once you have received your email. A $10 late fee will be added to tuition balances not paid by the 30th of each month. There will be a $25 fee for all returned checks.

Additional fees due at registration for the 2007/2008 Session are as follows:
• Registration Fee: $25 for one child ($15 for returning students) and $35 for two or more children from the same household.
• Recital costume deposit: $30 per costume. Recital costumes range in price from $65 to $85. The remaining balance for all recital costumes will be billed in January.

Discount Program
A 10% discount will be applied to the tuition of additional children from the same household

Withdrawal
One-month’s notice is required to withdraw from classes. Requests for withdrawal must be submitted in writing no later than the 15th of the month and will be considered effective on the 15th of the following month.

Refunds
Registration fees are non-refundable. Recital costume deposits and balances can only be refunded prior to the costumes being ordered from the manufacturer. If Arts ‘n Motion finds it necessary to cancel a class, a refund of all unused classes will be issued.

Inclement Weather Policy
Arts ‘n Motion will follow the Anne Arundel County Public School System for closings due to inclement weather. We will post messages pertaining to closings on the studio’s phone message.

Care of Students:
Arts ‘n Motion cannot be responsible for the care of students before or after class. We ask that you arrive promptly at the end of your child’s class. For the children’s safety, we also ask that parents come into the studio to pick them up. We do not allow children out in the parking lot unaccompanied by an adult.

Dress Code for dance classes
Coming to class properly dressed is a part of the discipline associated with taking dance classes:

• Broadway Babies and Wee Rockettes Combo Classes - Leotard (any color) and tights or bobby socks. Leotards may have a skirt attached if desired. Tap shoes and ballet shoes are required. Payless or Walmart tap and ballet shoes are acceptable until we grow closer to recital time. At this time we will inform you as to what color/type of shoes are needed.
• Ballet - Leotard (any color), tights (suntan or pink) and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be properly secured and away from the face, preferably in a bun. Our youngest ballerinas may wear ballet skirts if they wish.
• Jazz - Leotard (any color) and tights or jazz pants, beige slip on jazz shoes or bare feet and hair properly secured.
• Tap - Leotard (any color) and tights or jazz pants. Beige tap shoes are preferred. Please see teacher for shoe type.
• Hip Hop - Comfortable clothes (sweatpants, leggings, shorts or jazz pants) are appropriate for this class. Hip Hop shoes are recommended. Street shoes are not permitted.

Attendance & Make up classes
Arts ‘n Motion is proud of our new studio and we ask that you help us in keeping it clean and safe for our students and families. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the studio. We offer a comfortable waiting area and parents/guardian and siblings are welcome to watch through our studio windows. We ask that you please not enter the dance studio while your child is in class. This disturbs the teacher and interrupts your child’s attention in class. Our teachers are experienced educators and we will do everything possible to help your child to feel comfortable in class. We understand that the drop off process may be difficult at first for our younger dancers who are not enrolled in a Mommy & Me class, but we are confident that after a few short weeks they will become comfortable with their surroundings. We also ask that should you need to speak with your child’s teacher that you please do so by leaving a message at the front desk. Our class schedule does not allow our teachers time between classes to speak with parents. They will be more than happy to assist you, however, by returning your call after they have finished their classes.

Studios
No food, gum or drinks are allowed in our studios. Water bottles with lids are permitted. Only dance shoes are allowed on the studio floors.

Attendance & Make up classes
Students will benefit most from classes if their attendance is consistent. Making up missed classes is permitted, but please check with the studio in advance to verify that there is space available. If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to give students a chance to make up the class. We cannot give refunds for missed classes for any reason, including illness, vacation, inclement weather or otherwise.   If your particular class falls on a holiday and the studio is closed please inquire as to what day and time you may come to make up that class.

Photo Release
Arts ‘n Motion is hereby granted permission to take photographs of students to use in brochures, the studio’s website, posters, advertisements, or other promotional materials the studio creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photographs in its name.

Session Policies

Winter 2008
8-weeks  

Winter 2008 session (8 weeks) begins Monday, January 21 and ends Saturday, March 15, 2008

No classes – Monday, November 20 thru Saturday, November 25

 

Tuition
Tuition for the Winter 2008 session of classes is based on a 8 week session and is $120. A sibling discount of 10% will be offered to families registering more than one child from the same household. Tuition is due at the time of enrollment. There is a $25 fee for all returned checks. If Arts ‘n Motion finds it necessary to cancel a class, a refund of all unused classes will be issued.

Materials Fee
Music & Movement Classes - $12 (once per year)
Art classes - $8 per session

Classes that are missed due to studio closings for the holidays listed on our calendar will be added on to the end of each session.
